Awarded to Prevent Drug Use & HIV/AIDS in Hispanic Community,
Congressman Christopher Shays Attends Presentation - February 15,

The Lower Fairfield
County Regional Action Council announced a grant a collaborative
of local organizations won to help prevent drug use and the spread
of HIV/AIDS in the Hispanic community through education. The six-month
Drug Free Communities grant, awarded by the Substance Abuse and
Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), is a pilot program
that will disseminate information through creative methods, such
an integration of messages into storytelling. Following the press
conference, there was a tour of the Liberation Programs and Health
Mobile Prevention Van.
